R12: How To Clear the Exceptions That Prevent a PA Period from Closing in Release 12? (Doc ID 876313.1)

Goal

In a Release 12.0.6 instance users cannot cannot close the PA period and the EXC: Transaction Exception report shows:

APP-PA-19989: You cannot close this period because it contains cross charge distribution lines that are not yet interfaced to Subledger Accounting. Please run the EXC: Transaction Exceptions reports to identify the transactions that are preventing the period from being closed.

The EXC: Transaction Exception Report does not show the lines that need to be cleared.  How can the exceptions be cleared?
