Is there any way to update the alternate site name of inactivated "From Customer" after customer merge?. (Doc ID 879591.1)

Goal

Have performed customer accounts merge with option of "create same site". The legacy bill to code is stored in alternate site name and with customer acccount merge when new sites are created on "To Customer" the alternate site name is same and resulted in duplicate records.

Is there any way to update the alternate site name of inactivated "From Customer" after customer merge?.
