Symptoms

When attempting to process a Debrief against an Installed Base Instance, the transaction cannot be completed, because the Serial Number is not available in the LOV. When searching for the Serial Number in the Installed Base Transaction Error Queue it is found that the receipt transaction has failed.

The series of error messages are as follows:

The source item instance &ITEM, in Subinventory &SUBINVENTORY, for Organization &ORG_ID in Oracle Install Base does not exist. Please verify that any receipt transations were successful.


The root for this error is the following error:

One of the prior WIP material transaction identified by TRANSACTION_ID=&MTL_TXN_ID did not process successfully in Install Base. Please check the error log


The root for this error was a WIP Return transaction:

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1. Create a Debrief and attempt to select a Serial Number from the LOV
2. Find that the Serial Number does not exist in Installed Base
3. The Receipt Transaction for the Serial Number is stuck in the Error Interface
