Symptoms

Trying to change the number of Periods per Year defined in the Period Type you receive the following message:

              FRM-40200:  Field is protected against update.

You have an accounting calendar using a period type, and have decided that you want to change the number of periods per year associated.

You are trying to change the period per year for the period type as follows:
    GL Navigation: Setup > Financials >Calendar > Types
