Description:

Some Oracle Transportation Management, ( OTM ) clients with very complex Java memory activity patterns on WEB and APP tiers have been instructed to upgrade their JRockit JVM version to a version greater than 1.4.2_15, either by OTM Support or JRockit Support. However doing so may cause a performance degradation on the WEB tier.

Changing Tomcat's GC strategy from 'pausetime' to 'throughput' has alleviated these secondary performance issues in internal OTM testing.

The goal of this document is to provide instructions for making the changes to your tomcat configuration.
