11i: Shutting Down Apache Throws "glibc detected" Errors on Linux (Doc ID 949025.1)

When shutting down Apache for EBusiness Suite Release 11i ,the following errors are noticed in the error_log file:

caught SIGTERM, shutting down
*** glibc detected *** /<dir>/Apache/Apache/bin/httpd:
free(): invalid
pointer: 0x0028e000 ***
======= Backtrace: =========

Am alternative form of the error message is

*** glibc detected *** /<dir>/Apache/Apache/bin/httpd:  munmap_chunk(): invalid pointer: 0x00280000 ***
