In business scenario a situation arises where the rebuildable inventory cannot be rebuild any more. In this situation it is needed to inactivate the rebuildable inventory from the system.
You can remove the stock from the system through miscellaneous issue but the serial number is again available for transactions which should not be the case in the real business scenario.
Steps to reproduce:
a. Create a new rebuildable inventory serial number.
b. Bring the stock to the system through miscellaneous receipt.
c. Associate the rebuildable to the capital asset as a child.
d. Through configuration end date the association to bring back the rebuildable to inventory for rebuilding activity.
e. found that the rebuildable inventory is no longer be rebuilded as the rebuild cost is more than the cost of purchasing a new rebuild. Decision has been made to scrap the same.
f. The stock has been depleted through miscellaneous issue or move order issue.
g. The stock has been reduced in the system for the particular rebuildable item.
i. while trying to make a new receipt for the same rebuildable item the old serial number is still available for transaction, which is practically not correct.
