Changing Status on Sample Disposition Not Updating Onhand Material Status (Doc ID 974395.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 23, 2020

Applies to:

Oracle Inventory Management - Version 12.1.1 to 12.1.2 [Release 12.1]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Using the Onhand Material Status feature - that is to say, the Onhand Quantity of a Lot in a given Location has a Status, and the Lot also has a default Status.

Changing Status on the Quality Sample Change Disposition form is updating only the Lot Status, not the Onhand Material Status.

Steps to Reproduce

Create a Specification with a Validity Rule that controls lot attributes.
Create an Item sample, enter results then select change disposition.

On the change disposition form, there is 'lot status' field that is populated from the values entered on the validity rule. For example, From Hold to GOOD.

Change disposition to accept.

Now look at onhand quantity at the lot level, notice the onhand material status was not updated. Only the lot level status was changed.

Also, check the lot genealogy for the item/lot, it shows the material status change for the lot level.
