Service Pricing On Contract Lines Having Duration in Days Seems Inconsistent

Symptoms
Find that pricing a Service Contract Line that has a Duration in Days provided inconsistent results. Two lines can be created with the same duration but result in two different prices.
EXPECTED BEHAVIOR

Expect that if the same service is covering the same number of product for the same number of days that the price would also be the same.
STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Create a Service Contract that begins on 29-Sep-2008 with a duration of 2 years.
2. Add a Service Line to this contract that is effective from 29-Sep-2008 through 13-JUL-2009.
3. Add a covered Product subline to this Service line.
4. Add a second Service Line to this contract that is effective from 01-Jan-2009 through 15-OCT-2009.
5. Add a covered Product subline to this Service line.
6. Review the Prices for each line. The Total for line 1 will be slightly lower than the total for line 2.

Due to this issue, inconsistent amounts are being charged for Service and users cannot explain why.
