Purging Activity to reduce database Volume

The current volumes of the database have grown to more than 425 GB and has contributed to delays in online and batch timings . It is hence suggested to archive / purge data for better transaction timings. The purpose of purging/archiving is multi fold.
a) Database size in the production box will be reduced to considerable extent, which in turn reduces the storage space in the server b) Response time for the transaction will be reduced – both online transactions and batch process c) Daily backup time will be reduced which will eventually reduce the overall EOD time window
