Application Update Web service cannot create new asset for existing application. Also not able to update existing asset details in the application due to mandatory field validation (Doc ID 2657609.1)

Symptoms

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR
---------------

Application update web service not creating new asset or updating the existing asset details.

1) Not able to add a new asset using the application update web service.
2) For an existing asset in an application, not able to change the asset type , asset sub type and asset primary indicator through application update web service.

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
-----------------------

Application update Web service should not validate the mandatory fields while updating existing asset details in the application. Validation for mandatory fields is required when the asset is being updated through GUI.

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1) Send New Asset to attached it to existing application though application update web service.

2) Similarly send asset details to update the existing asset details(Asset Type,Asset Sub Type,Asset Primary Indicator) in the application through application update web service

3) Check whether the details populated as expected.


BUSINESS IMPACT

The issue has the following business impact:

Due to this issue, users are neither allowed to create an asset for an existing application nor allowed to update the existing asset in the application through application update web service.
