Last updated on DECEMBER 04, 2020

Applies to:

Oracle FLEXCUBE Direct Banking - Version DB 12.0.2 to DB 12.0.2 [Release DB 12]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR
---------------
Row lock contention is found for below query in ASH (Active Session History) reports while updating the host audit logging data:

update hostauditlog set error_code = :1 , error_desc = :2 , status = :3 , execution_end_time = :4 where idseq = :5

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
-----------------------
There should not be a row lock contention for updating the host audit logging data.

STEPS
-------
This is a performance issue and can be reproduced if Hostauditlog table has huge data (records in lakh) and concurrent user count is high (in thousands):
1. Login into FCDB application using retail/corporate user.
2. Perform funds transfer transaction.
3. Observe the slowness on 'Confirm' screen.
4. Extract ASH report and check for the 'update hostauditlog .. ' query.
