Symptoms

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR
---------------
Invalid special characters in metro file address fields

The address line 1 and address line 2 fields in the metro file contain special characters that are not allowed by the bureaus. Transunion credit bureau has rejected our file because it contained #s in the base and j2 address line 1 and address line 2 fields.

According to the 2020 Credit Reporting Resource Guide Exhibit 13 - General Rules for Addresses only "Slashes, dashes and periods are acceptable in the First Line of Address, Second Line of Address and City fields."

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR

Special characters should be removed from the file 

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Select a active account in customer service
2. Post a Non-Monetary transaction " ADD CUSTOMER ADDRESS"
3. Verify the transaction posted successfully.
4. Run the Metro-2 at month-end end and verify the output file for special characters "#"

BUSINESS IMPACT

Due to this issue, credit report file is getting rejected by credit bureaus
