Version: RRS 80970, FSDF 80940
Report/Schedule: FFIEC-009, Sch C Part I
MDRM: Col 11, C921
Issue:
As per 009 instructions,
"In Column 11, show all claims reported in Columns 1 through 10 that have a remaining contractual maturity of one year or less except as described below. The definition of “one year” should be consistent with the definition used in the FFIEC 031 and the FR Y-9C.
Marketable equity investments, both trading and available-for-sale, should be reported as maturing in less than one year.
Debt securities held for trading should be reported as maturing in less than one year. All other debt securities should be reported according to the remaining maturity."
1) The definition of “one year” should be consistent with the definition used in the FFIEC 031 and the FR Y-9C
031 and Y9C have handling for Fixed - Remaining Maturity, Floating to Fixed - Remaining maturity, Float - Time to next repricing, Embedded option - time to option date, etc. Same is not addressed in 009
2) All marketable equity investments (all holding type) and HFT Debt Securities should be reported <1Year, irrespective of instrument maturity
3) RC-C has specific handling for maturity of fixed rate/revolving cards, that they should be considered >1year irrespective of maturity date.
Current configuration uses remaining maturity, which does not address above criteria.
