STR - PDF creation performance is slow related to the number of transactions on a report.

On the STR application, business users reported that downloading a PDF (generating a PDF) version of an STR report does not work.

For the first Report, there were 5,324 transactions, observation is that in the background, the application was generating temporary PDFs for each part, and specifically, a temporary PDF for each transaction and disposition (also 5,324 dispositions). Due to the performance and the volume of transactions /dispositions, the act of clicking the PDF icon lead to a long running background process (after a while this is unknown to the user). The background process was still running an hour later and was likely 1/3 of the way through when it was stop and restart the server.

- Can the PDF generation performance be improved such that users can perform immediate generation for reports with large number of transactions?
- If not, please consider other options, such as limiting immediate PDF generation to reports with small number of transactions and inform the user that the larger PDFs will be generated in the background or even queued up for generation at an appropriate time. A way of indicating completion to the user would be needed.
