OFSLL Release And Patches Taking Too Long To Apply(Bad Performance) (Doc ID 2860246.1)

Symptoms

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR  
---------------

Was applying patches V975853-14.5, V980727-14.6, V982517-14.7,V984521-14.8,V996969-14.9,V1005903-14.10,p32947569_1410000_Generic_14.10_release_set1.zip,p33318399_1410000_Generic_14.10_release_set2.zip and p33433893_1410000_Generic_14.10_patch_set9.zip and noted the patches are really slow to apply. Some of them taking more than 8hrs. I have noted adding columns on table ACCOUNTS and some other tables, loading data into those column, updating entire table with more than 3 million records, then deleting the columns created is not efficient at all.

System should complete the upgrade process without any delays

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Upgrade the OFSLL from 14.4 to 14.6
  2. Apply the patches and verify the performance


BUSINESS IMPACT

The issue has the following business impact:

Due to this issue, Upgrade taking lot of time causing delays
