Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

On : 14.5.0.4.0 version, Production Support-CET

There were 2 node managed server setup was available, out of which one managed server was experience high CPU utilization. To clear the load , managed server restart   was done and since then Weblogic managed server unable to come on active stage.

The error observed in the logs were as below

Scenario :- There is no error observed in WebLogic deployment log and process is keep hanging at one point without any error notified.

RCA :- While reviewing the thread dump of the process , we observed that it was pointing to server ip/port "XXX.XXX.53.XX:XXXX" , which was of UAT IP. Since there is no connection from Production, weblogic were keep trying to reach the IP and keeping the process on hanging stage. The reason of UAT IP getting used in PROD because bank had used the UAT EAR file , assuming they had used the EAR during the UAT testing. There assumption were that no IP/port hardcoding was inside the units of ear.  The PROD and UAT IP were in same network although segregated with Firewall. Since the UAT IP was available , EAR was trying to connect hence keeping in hanging state.
