Purpose

 

Manage Order Promising Rules - Manage Planning Allocation Rules


An item’s supply can be allocated to demand tiers to ensure optimal demand satisfaction by tier. Since GOP is a first come first serve engine, it is possible for lower priority demands to steal supply that you might want to preserve for higher priority orders. A way of mitigating this is by creating Allocation Rules.

For example, you could choose to reserve 80% of supply for an item to a “High Priority” demand class by creating an appropriate allocation rule. This ensures that supply is reserved for orders from “High Priority” demand class to this extent.

This document deals with the Allocation rules.
