File Import Wizard provides a generic import framework to support data import from text and xml files into transactional tables.
On a high level the import process is a 3 step process, which includes file processing, validation and creation of data in the destination.
Data can exist from various sources and in various formats. File processing component consists of reading the source data, parsing the data and inserting into the appropriate staging tables. During the process, user defined mapping is read and the data is inserted as per the mapping.

If you are a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) customer, there are multiple sections in this document that need not be performed by you. Please log a Service Request in My Oracle Support for Oracle to do this for you.
