Error while using Table Validated Valueset in a DFF Segment (Doc ID 1523569.1)

Symptoms

On : 11.1.4.0.0 version, Set Up Workforce Deployment-Define Workforce Structures

Table Dependent Value Set can not be assigned to Global/Context Sensitive Segments

Users are trying to add an Assignment DFF a Segment with Table dependent Value set and on trying to save with Table dependent Value set attached to segment encounter an error.

Due to this issue, users cannot use the table validated valueset.


Error

The value set XX_Locations_VS cannot be assigned to the global segment XXLoc_Segment. (FND-2627)
In application 800 and descriptive flexfield PER_ASG_DF, value set XX_Locations_VS cannot be assigned to global segment XXLoc_Segment which uses column ASS_ATTRIBUTE13. The assigned value set must have a data type that is compatible with the column data type and its maximum length must be no longer than the column length.


Steps To Reproduce
1. Login to the Application.

2. Create a Table validated Valueset as :

  From Clause = HR_LOCATIONS_ALL
  Value Column Name = LOCATION_NAME
  Value Column Type = VARCHAR2
  Value column Length = 240

3. Create a segment under DFF > Assignment Attributes ( PER_ASG_DF )

4. Edit the segment > Associate the valueset created in Step 2 to this Segment , in the Validate > Value Set field.

5. Encounter the reported error.
