If you create a requisition with the Amount Based Line Type, only the user that entered the requisition can receive this line in the Self-Service Receiving (SSR). However, some customers employ a 'centralized model' for entering orders, where users can enter orders on behalf of another user or the facility as a whole. Thus, whoever entered a particular order may not be the user who receives it. For example, a customer has a centralized Engineering department. They might enter a service order for a plant location. The engineer enters the order but will probably not be receiving it. A plant user might validate that the work is complete and perform the receipt transaction. Some customer also employ Segregation of Duties, which SSR currently violates. If a user enters orders, they should not be receiving them.
While using quantity-based orders allows customer to work around the problem via Warehouse Receiving, it is no ideal. Customers would like Self-Service Receiving, Returns, and Corrections to support this functionality.
