FA: SCM: OM: Can Additional Customized Order Header and Order Lines Status be Defined? (Doc ID 1538909.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 03, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle Fusion Order Management Cloud Service - Version 11.13.20.01.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

This is an Enancement Request to cater for additional DOO Header and Line statuses.

Order header and line level statuses requires more business rules within Order Management. Fusion Order Management currently allows users to configure custom status values and dependencies at the task, orchestration process and fulfillment line levels.

However, the order orchestration line and header levels of the data model only offer a few fixed statuses (open, partial, closed, canceled). This is can be used to  communicate order status with external systems (such as order capture or customer services applications). Typically these applications may report Order status at header level, and may only have visibility to the orchestration order lines (not the fulfillment lines that Order Management created). In addition to this logistics/Fulfillment systems may need to report delivery status at consignment level. This is a business object that is currently not present in the Order Management data model.

Order Management could be enhanced to leverage the rich facilities that it already has available for business rule and status value processing.  This would provide more detailed aggregate order status at header, orchestration order line, and consignment (delivery) levels that can be shared with external systems.

Following is the example of a use case when one order line is split into 2 fulfillment lines.

Current DOO functionality

Header Status - OPEN
Line Status - OPEN
Fulfillment line ONE Status - SHIPPED
Fulfillment line TWO Status - PICKED

Requirement (example)

Header Status - PENDING FULFILLMENT
Line Status - PARTIAL SHIPPED
Fulfillment line ONE Status - SHIPPED
Fulfillment line TWO Status - PICKED

The change demonstrated here shows a condition where the HEADER Status required is PENDING FULFILLMENT. The Orchestration Order Line Status required is PARTIAL SHIPPED
