Issues With Customer / Contact Import Using Custom Extension Attribute

Information in this document applies to any platform.


From Fusion version, while using File Import for customer or contact using custom Extension attribute created for OrganizationProfile or PersonProfile, some issues are noted.


Data imported for Custom Extension attributes may not be visible in the UI.

i.e these data will never be imported while other seeded attributes are imported successfully.

Sometimes, the data saved for these custom extension attributes will be overridden with Null values.

 Original data in the custom field should not be wiped out and should be able to successfully import data for the custom Extension Attributes of Organization or Person profile objects.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Create a import for customer data including values for some custom fields.
2. Update the imported customer .

The issue has the following business impact:
Due to this issue, users cannot use custom fields for importing customers or contacts as required.
