Why are blank columns being returned when querying for Contact details in an OTBI analysis on "Sales - CRM Customer Overview" ?

Information in this document applies to any platform.
When using "Sales - CRM Customer Overview" and choosing a field from both objects Customer and Contact (in order to associate them; for instance to display the contacts belonging to a customer), the report is returning blank columns for Contact ID or/and Contact Name.
Why are we unable to see Contact details for a Customer when we query in this Subject Area ?
