Our goal is to allow users to enter multiple salary changes for a single effective date. e.g. we need the ability to enter a salary change that reflects a merit increase and market change for the same effective date. To do so we believe the Salary Basis needs to be configured to allow multiple components.
User configured the Salary Basis component configuration to "Do not use components".
They would like to change that setting either "User selects components to use" or "Display selected components". After saving the change to either of these values we receive the following error:
You cannot update this salary basis because at least one worker is assigned to it. (CMP-1005069)
What is the best practice to apply this configuration change.
1)It appears that we need to create a new Salary Basis and update every employee's salary record?
2)What is the potential impact for other products e.g. WF Comp, Benefits and Payroll? It seems there may need to be additional configuration changes for these products?
3)How can we inactivate the old salary basis to prevent users from selecting when managing salary changes?
