Fusion Global HR: Editing an Employee's Contact Fails with Errors (Doc ID 1925973.1)

Symptoms

After an HR person edits a contacts information using the Person Management screen, the resulting notification contains the following error.

Error Message FAULT_NAME=selectionFailure:... The value is invalid. The result of from-spec is null. Either from node value or the xpath query in the from node value was invalid. According to BPEL4WS spec 1.1 section 14.3, the from node value should not be empty. Verify the from node value at line number 642 in the BPEL source.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1.Login to Fusion Apps UI as an HR Specialist
2. Navigator >Person Management
3. Query for a Name of a Contact (not an Employee)
4. On the Person Management screen for the Contact, update information (address, etc.)
5. Submit.
No errors received.

Receive notification stating Failed with Errors and the above error message.
