Changing the asset category without entering DFF values drops/empties the values for the category DFF. For Mass Category Changes, when checking the 'Retain category descriptive flexfield values', the DFF values are retained only if the major category remains the same ,even if the DFF uses manual instead of category context.
For manual category changes the DFF values should be retained even if the values are not re-entered at the transaction. For Mass Category Changes the DFF values should be retained if checking the 'Retain category descriptive flexfield values' even if the new major category is different
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Navigate to Financial Transactions > Manage Financial Transactions > Change Category
2. Change the asset category without re-entering DFF values. Submit
3. Navigate to Financial Transactions > Manage Mass Financial Transactions ; Actions > Enter Mass Transactions > Category Change.
4. Select the book, enter a batch name. Choose the selection criteria, check the 'Retain category descriptive flexfield values', and submit.
The issue has the following business impact:
Due to this issue, users have to do screenshots of the original DFF values for the assets and re-enter them when doing catgory changes. They cannot change also the major category when doing Mass Category Changes and retain the DFF values.
