External planning applications are used to create requisitions. These are transferred to Fusion and inserted into the Requisition Interface.
This works, but it would be a better design to have a web service (WS) instead, especially to be able to send back validation errors to the sending
application if anything goes wrong.
Also have the scenario when users update requisition lines and distributions based on custom logic, e.g. to set attributes lost in punchout shopping cart
- To be able to import requisitions with a web service.
- To be able to update requisition header, line and distribution using a WS.
- Reduce cost for integrations since fewer components can be used.
- Reduce maintenance cost since error messages can be returned to the end user in the calling UI instead of having a transaction stuck in an interface table.
(Which gives additional cost for monitoring, reprocessing and not optimal support processes)
