Absence Accrual Balance Does Not Match Total Of Periodic Accrual Entries

The absence plan term was changed from January to June. The accrual balance is not being recalculated for employees enrolled in the plan.
For example:

On the plan participation summary screen, the balance as of 30-Sep-2014 is 19.605 days, which is calculated from 1-Jan-2014, which is the original date of the plan.

Periodic accruals balance shows the following:
30-Jun-2014 - 2.18
31-Jul-2014 - 2.175
31-Aug-2014 - 2.175 days
Total 6.53 days.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Absence Administration > Manage Absence Plans > Search for the relevant plan. Click on Edit > Correct, and change the plan term from 01/01 to 06/01.
2. Person Management > Manage Absence Records > Accruals
3. Note that the balance on the front screen is showing as 19.605 days, but the detail records show the balance as 6.53 days, which is the expected value.
