Orchestration Process fails with an error: The Inventory Reservation System Cannot Create A Reservation.

We are unable to process a DOO order as it is failing with an error. The order has been created with a ShipOrderGenericProcess - Orchestration Process assigned and the Fulfillment lines on the order have been progressed through Scheduling. The Reservation process has failed and an error is reported in the DOO workbench:

The inventory reservation system cannot create a reservation because of an unknown inventory error. Contact the inventory administrator.

We have checked the BPEL instance for this order in Enterprise Manager(EM) an error is shown in the Reserve Process - DOO_SYSTEM_ERROR - An unknown error has occured.

Examining the ReserveProcess Shows an error: The Reserved UOM {RESERVED_UOM} must match the UOM defined in the item master {ITEM_MASTER_UOM}.

Examining the ReserveRequest Shows an error: INV_MATAV_INVALID_RSV_UOM - The reserved UOM {RESERVED_UOM} must match the UOM defined in the item master {ITEM_MASTER_UOM}.
