Fusion PIM: Cannot Select Inherited Attribute Groups In NIR Definition Step (Doc ID 2011247.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 08, 2016

Applies to:

Oracle Fusion Product and Catalog Management - Version 11.1.9.2.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On : 11.1.9.2.0 version, Set Up Product Management-Define Item Classes

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR
---------------
Cannot select inherited attribute groups in NIR definition step

We have a parent item class that contains the attribute groups. This item class has different child item classes:
• Food, Beverages & Tobacco
• Non-Food
• Health Beauty & Care
Attributes that are defined are the same, but the definition should be assigned to different roles. The NIR definition is assigned to different roles at this level: Food, Beverage & Tobacco is assigned to the role NIR Food, Beverage & Tobacco., Non-Food is assigned to NIR Non-Food, etc.

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
-----------------------

The problem is that we cannot select the attribute groups because they are defined at the parent item class. The system only shows the attribute groups that are defined at the item class itself. That is not correct: it should also show the attribute groups that are inherited from the higher level items classes. The attribute groups are same but the assignments to the role are different.

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. In a governance active Organization / Item Class.
2. Define attributes at parent and child levels allowing inheritance at child.
3. Create an NIR
4. The inherited attributes are not available to be selected in NIR for child.
