Unable To Search For Custom Object Records Using Global Search

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR
---------------
Unable to search for Custom object records using Global Search

Configured a custom object and attempting to do a global search of the object.

Verified that the custom object has a detail page configured (on the SUI), and that the fields that are being used are on the configuration of the object in Manage Search View Objects task are searchable.

Using global search for out of the box objects, such as Accounts, Activities, Opportunities, Contacts works just fine.


EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
-----------------------
global Search on Custom Objects should work like standard objects.

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Create custom obejcts and add custom fields -Text type and Searchable.
2. Set Search index and searchable configuration in Manage Search View Objects task.
3. Try searching for the field values in Global Search - No rows returned.

 

NOTE: On the first hand try running the index.

In Manage Search View Objects , select the custom Object and click on "Incremental index" or Full Re-Index if it is  the first time.
