Goal

On : 11.1.10.0.0 version, Opportunities

Unable to create Competitor Record

Trying to create a competitor and associate it to an Opportunity using web service.

Tried using the OpportunityService WS and createOpportunity method in that. Specifying an existing Competitor record's Party Id in CmptPartyId under OpportunityCompetitor2,  able to associate the Competitor to the Opportunity.

But not able to specify the PartyName and other relevant parameters and create a Competitor through this service and associate it to the opportunity. Getting the error "JBO-29000: Unexpected exception caught: java.lang.NullPointerException, msg=null: null".

Tried using CompetitorService WS and createCompetitor method in that. There also not able to provide the PartyName and other relevant parameters. and create a new Competitor record. If provide a PartyId of existing sales party the web service creates a competitor record. Since the PartyId that I supplied is that of an Sales Account, under Competitor screen it shows account as Yes.

Questions are
1) Can I use OpportunityCompetitor2 section under createOpportunity method in OpportunityService to create a new Competitor and associate it to the Opportunity?
2) If not, Can I use OpportunityCompetitor3 section under createOpportunity method in OpportunityService to create a new Competitor and associate it to the Opportunity?
3) If not, Can I use createCompetitor method in CompetitorService to create a new Competitor without providing Party Id of existing party?
4) If not, how to create a Party that is not a Sales Account, whose party Id can be supplied to createCompetitor to create it?
