getTransaction Method

Wrote script for "ABC" action and in the script they used the getTransaction method.
And then we go to the detail of the opportunities and customer click the "ABC" button under the action.
Customer wrote function under the button on the Opportunities object.
This is the script,

def exData = newView("Approval_Management_c")
def dataRow = exData.createRow()

dataRow.setAttribute ("RecordName" ,Name)

exData.insertRow (dataRow)

But it returns error. Error definition is,

Exception in expression "OpportunityVO" object function Send_to_Approval() : groovy.lang.MissingMethodException : No signature of method: oracle.apps.crmCommon.core.publicModel.CRMViewObjectimpl.getTransaction() is applicable for argument type: () value: [] Possible solutions: getDBTransaction() at "OpportunityVO" object function Send_to_Approval() line 65

If customer comment the "exData.getTransaction().getApplicationModule().commit() " line, the script worked but customer concern is unless they save , all changes will be missed.
So they want to use commit method and how they can correct this line?

Customer want to know,
How to commit method for the Opportunity object?
