Unable To Approve A Contract Due To Error Even After The Approval Flow Is Correctly Setup (Doc ID 2099115.1)

Symptoms

Error after setting up auto approval and while submitting a contract for approval.

Error occurred while displaying History tree table. Error in task {0}. Please correct the error.


The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
Done the below steps to have the Auto Approval enabled for enterprise Contracts:
Navigate to the path in application Navigator -> Setup and Maintenance
Search and open task ‘Manage Task Configurations for Customer Relationship Management'
A new BPM Worklist window opens Click on "Task Configuration" tab, then Contracts Approval task on left pane, then "Rules" sub tab on right as shown below.
If you not see any predefined rules then will have to create rules depending on your business needs.
Expand a rule
if you want to bypass the approval hierarchy and have AUTO APPROVAL, then only create following rule:
1) Edit IF condition to 1 is 1
2) Under Then block Choose
List builder : Supervisory
Response type: Required
Number of levels: 1
Starting Participant: HierarchyBuilder.getPrincipal(Task.payload.submitter,-1,"","")
Top Participant: HierarchyBuilder.getPrincipal(Task.payload.submitter,-1,"","")
Auto action enabled: True
Auto Action: "APPROVE"
3) Save and commit.
