Asset Inquiry Search Error: A connection to the server has failed. (status = 504) (Doc ID 2188213.1)

Symptoms

Asset Inquiry prompts the following error: 

ERROR
-----------------------
A connection to the server has failed. (status = 504)

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Navigate to Fixed Assets > Asset Inquiry 
2. Select Asset Book and Asset Number and click Search
3. Error prompts above on the user side.

1. Navigate to Fixed Assets > Asset Inquiry > Recent Additions
2. Click on Asset Number link.
3. Error prompts above on the user side.
