Unable To View Calculation Log. A Connection to the server has failed (error=504) or Export Limit (Doc ID 2251566.1)

Symptoms

The calculation failed with error and profile CN Debug is enable.  However, user is not able to retrieve the calculation log file to view the error message.s

ERROR
When user click on View Log icon, the cursor keeps spinning and the screen times-out, showing the message "A Connection to the server has failed (error=504)" .
OR
Excel export of log gives reached export limit message.
