Useability Issue - Specifying Asset Category In Mass Transfers UI Form

Client was previously told that the Search button is not operational in the Mass Transfers UI form. They claim that it is too much effort to have to specify the individual segments of the Asset Category in the UI. Their comment: When we want to change the category, you must click add field's 4 times. You then must enter Major, Minor, Future1, Future 2. If we can not search for a valid major minor string, we should have the ability to just enter the information into this filter without having to add fields, 4 times.
Can you advise on any other workaround other than having to specify all of the segments of the Asset Category, since the SEARCH button does not work?
