Symptoms

If you are a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) customer, there are multiple sections in this document that need not be performed by you. Please log a Service Request in My Oracle Support for Oracle to do this for you.

 

While synchronizing users between Oracle Sales Cloud, Oracle Global Human Resources Cloud, and Oracle ERP Cloud and Oracle PaaS, the User identity synchronization from this SaaS instance to the PaaS Identity Store ESS job/ scheduled process fails with following error in the ESS job log file:

 

Steps to reproduce the issue:

1.  Register the SIM Endpoint.  Refer: https://cloud.oracle.com/developer/solutions?tab=tasks&solutionguid=OCPSI-GUID-C3F3348C-8C74-4F17-B9CE-0893CE2FA7CC

2.  Login to Fusion Application as admin user

3.  Click Navigator -> Tools > Scheduled Process -> Schedule New Process -> search and submit User identity synchronization from this SaaS instance to the PaaS Identity Store

The process will fail with error.

Changes

There was a period of time, between March 2017 and September 2017, where new Fusion Application Cloud environments did not get provisioned with user sync APPID called FA_SIM_USER_SYNC_AGENT_APPID
