Last updated on APRIL 11, 2018

Applies to:

Oracle Demand Management Cloud Service - Version and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

How can one load Initial Shipment History data, ongoing sales forecast, and customer forecast data at a level higher than the stored level?

Planning data load files are at the lowest ("stored") level (item/customer/day).
Business requires the ability to load data at higher levels,
such as product category*customer*month or item*customer*week etc.

Use Case:
Given this is new plant, initial seed data will be only at product category level and not item level
because this plant has no history yet.
Similarly, forecasts provided by customer will not be at a day level.

Business Benefit/Value:
During forecast analysis process,
need ability to review forecast inputs from customers and sales/marketing team before overriding statistical forecast.

Work around - Build external program to explode data down from higher to lower levels before loading data into SaaS.
