Symptoms

 

Purchasing Setup: Manage Functional Area Catalog > Purchasing > Edit Functional Catalog > Category Hierarchy > Additional Information section.

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR

----------------------
Unable to Default A Value to Global Descriptive Flexfield (DFF) List of Values (LOV).

Problem does not occur if Descriptive Flexfield is defined as context.

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
-----------------------
Be able to setup a default value to a global dff in Manage Functional Area Catalog > Purchasing > Edit Functional Catalog > Category Hierarchy > Additional Information section.

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Go to Manage Category Descriptive Flexfields and set up a global segment as follows:
Validation
Value Set = <value set name>
Initial Default
Default Type = Constant
Default Value = <Constant value>

Manage Values <value set>
<Constant value> is defined

2. Create a sandbox
3. Navigate to Manage Functional Area Catalog > Purchasing > Edit Functional Catalog > Category Hierarchy > Additional Information section and customize the page. Add the Global Segment DFF to the page.
4. Sign off and sign on
5. Go to Manage Functional Area Catalog > Purchasing > Edit Functional Catalog > Category Hierarchy > Additional Information section.
Global Segment DFF is diplayed , but the default value selected is not defaulting. Value is listed in LOV.
