Unable to change a sequence number within a Work Definition (Doc ID 2651212.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 24, 2020

Applies to:

Oracle Maintenance Cloud Service - Version 11.13.19.10.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Unable to change the sequence number on a maintenance work definition.

After setting up and saving the work definition for the first time, required to replace one of the operation used in the work definition by another. Then created a new version and edit it by deleting operation 10 and re-sequencing operation 11 to 10.

However, when selecting save, the error: The effective dates must not overlap between operations 10 and 11 because the operations have same operation sequence. (WIS-4440055) appears.

If the operation is giving 11 rather than sequence number 10 the error does not appear. This doesn't seem correct.

ERROR
-----------------------
The effective dates must not overlap between operations 10 and 11 because the operations have same operation sequence. (WIS-4440055)

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Created new Work Definitions with previously defined Operations
2. Operation 10 (with a end Date) was deleted
3. Editing next operation sequence number from 11 to 10. Error appears.
