21B Release: Demand Plan Engine Will Not Run Successfully if the Plan Is Using a Forecast Profile With a "Global Causal" (Doc ID 2768872.1)

Last updated on APRIL 27, 2021

Applies to:

Oracle Demand Management Cloud Service - Version and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

In 21B Update, the Demand Plan Engine will not run successfully if the Plan is using a Forecast Profile with both global Custom Causals OR any Local Causals.

Forecast will completely fail in such scenario and no forecast will be generated at all, regardless of any method selection or any other profile option.

Example - Customer duplicating Shipments Forecast Profile enabling the existing “Price” Causal and populating it with valid values will also be hit by the issue.

Custom "Global Causals" are usually used to define Holiday effects and other Global events.

Steps to reproduce:
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Open Demand Planning Work Area
2. Go to All Task > Manage Plans >
3. Select the Plan and Click Run Plan

4. Review the Forecast in the Table
