The Contract Source Is Defaulted To Terms Template when Authoring Party Is External (Doc ID 2864561.1)

Goal

When a contract is created with the Authoring Party value as 'External' the contract source is defaulted to 'Terms Template' instead of 'Attached Document'  and the field is not editable. The value then changes to 'Attached Document' after attaching the document to the contract. Is it possible to have the value changed to 'Attached Document' by default for External contract in the first screen itself or can the field be editable?
