RSYNC Has 1k Limit on Fully-qualified Filenames (Doc ID 1050733.1)

The "rsync" utility is not copying some files as it should.
Using the "dry-run" option of rsync the files are listed.

When the command is run to actually perform the copy, get errors:
buffer overflow expanding %% - exiting
rsync error: errors with program diagnostics (code 13) at log.c(419)

When the "-vvv" option is used, additional error messages are seen: 

multiplexing overflow 2:1028

rsync error: error in rsync protocol data stream (code 12) at io.c(681)
_exit_cleanup(code=12, file=io.c, line=681): about to call exit(12)
