Quotas Do Not Display Proper NFS Mount Entry on EL5 (Doc ID 1134453.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 04, 2018

Applies to:

Linux OS - Version: 5.4 and later   [Release: OEL5U4 and later ]
Linux x86
Linux x86-64

You have two users (e.g. user1 and user2) with their /home mounted to NFS server. But the quota command does not display the correct mount entry for user2.

For example:
$ mount
NFS-SERVER:/home/user1 on /home/user1 type nfs (rw,rsize=8192,wsize=8192,proto=tcp,quota,intr,addr=x.x.x.x)
NFS-SERVER:/home/user2 on /home/user2 type nfs (rw,rsize=8192,wsize=8192,proto=tcp,quota,intr,addr=x.x.x.x)
And on NFS server NFS-SERVER, the /home is on a local disk.

When checking user2's quota information, the Filesytem still display as /home/user1:
#quota -u user2
Disk quotas for user tgiustoz (uid 5308):
