Incorrect System Time After Reboot When Upgrading to Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel (Doc ID 1282718.1)

Symptoms

After upgrading the Oracle Linux from version 5 update 5 kernel to Unbreakable Enterprise Linux(UEK) kernel, the system time is very different with hardware time in every reboot. During reboot time, you may also see an error message as below:

INIT: version 2.86 booting
Welcome to Enterprise Linux Server
Press 'I' to enter interactive startup.
Cannot access the Hardware Clock via any known method.
Use the --debug option to see the details of our search for an access method.

Setting clock (utc): Mon Jan 3 10:08:55 PST 2011 [ OK ]
Starting udev: [ OK ]

Changes

Upgraded the Oracle Linux 5 update 5 system to use UEK kernel
