Oracle VM Manager 2.x: Login Fails When Using Upper-case Character for 'ovs' Account Password (Doc ID 1329655.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 31, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle VM - Version 2.1.5 and later
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure - Version N/A and later
Linux x86-64

Install Oracle VM Manager on external 11g db and modify the 'ovs' account password using upper case characters. When you log into Oracle VM Manager, you get 'invalid passwd' error and login fails. However, with same password you can connect to manager db by 'ovs' account via  sqlplus.

Replacing the upper case character with lower case, login works without any problem.

Modify 'ovs' account password using upper case character.
