Configure Secure TCP (TCPS) for Oracle VM Manager (Doc ID 1456338.1)

Last updated on JULY 15, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure - Version N/A and later
Oracle VM - Version 3.1.1 to 3.3.4 [Release OVM31 to OVM33]
Linux x86-64

Goal

Oracle VM Manager has been enhanced by adding the secure TCP protocol (TCPS) support.  The TCPS service is essentially the TCP service but over an SSL-encrypted pipe, and it has advantage over the http / https proxy mechanism in terms of performance and security. From Oracle VM Manager 3.1 to 3.3 releases, TCPS is required for communication between Oracle VM Manager and Oracle Enterprise Manager.  In this note, we provide the instructions to configure TCPS for Oracle VM Manager. TCPS is not needed in Oracle VM Manager 3.4 releases.
