Symptoms

The following messages are logged in /var/log/messages:

-- kernel: bnx2: eth2: using MSIX

kernel: bnx2: eth0 NIC Copper Link is Down  ===============> Link Down
kernel: bonding: bond0: link status definitely down for interface eth0, disabling it
kernel: bonding: bond0: making interface eth2 the new active one.
kernel: bnx2: eth0 NIC Copper Link is Up, 1000 Mbps full duplex, receive & transmit flow control ON
kernel: bonding: bond0: link status definitely up for interface eth0.


As an example, this problem has been observed on HP ProLiant DL360 G7 server running Oracle Linux 5.3.
